Even though we got out of school Friday, I don't feel it officially started until today. I got to sleep until 9:00 this morning and that was fantastic!! Then, enjoying a cup of coffee or two for an hour or so. Loved it!!
We went up to Betsy's Sunday and we had a great time. The kids swam, we had a cookout, and then more of the same on Monday. I got to spend a lot of time with family and that is precious to me as I get older (especially since I don't see everybody on a day-to-day basis). Being up there like that with family around reminds me of being little over in the country at my Mamaw's. I came home and told Billy I wanted to move up there, but he kind of laughed at me. I miss my family. Tonight, I am making my "I miss Mamaw" supper: meatloaf, mac and cheese, green beans, and applesauce. Don't know what's got me so nostalgic!!
I must have had a great childhood! = )

Flowers.....
My irises were beautiful this year. I took this picture Sunday and I wish now I had snapped one before that. They were very pretty.
I just closed my eyes and added this picture of me and the girls on Mother's Day. It was so cold and windy outside and Billy was the one with the camera. He took one and said, "Okay!" I look awful for lots of reasons, but that Barker crack is not very attractive!! Thanks, mother!
The flowers are from Momma and Betsy. I got the Teacher of the year award at our school, and they sent those to congratulate me. They are so pretty. I did well getting them home because I had a few stops to make. Almost home, stopped for a red light, and now I have water on the front seat and the floor board. It's worth it to get such a great surprise today!

My latest obsession.....

Has anybody tried this? Oh my, it is sooooooo gooood. It's the coffee caramel milkshake from Chick-Fil-A. It is not too coffee-tasty, plus it's got their icedream in it. I had one two weeks ago, and had to keep myself from getting another one. I gave in yesterday, and it was as good as I thought it would be. So, if anybody is looking for a new drink to try. It's got my thumbs-up!

Edited to Add.........
UGH!!! I have worked over an hour trying to resize these photos and edit them, and I can't figure it out. Why is it that one time you can do it quick and another time, IT CAN"T BE DONE???????? Oh well... I told Lynette that I would add a photo of me and Anne. Don't we look cute in Aunt Sandi's wigs? The one of us 4 girls is sweet. It was early in the morning. We hadn't had time to argue yet. The one of me, Betsy, Mamaw and Papaw was for Mamaw's birthday. Moma had wrote on the back it was after an operation that Mamaw had.

Tears are still rolling......
I'm at Betsy's house today, and she had some old photos out on the bar. She especially loved the one of her and Lynette and their fantastic hair-dos! So, I scanned them for the Florida cousins to see and get a laugh out of it. I only wish I had a few of me and Anne. I think I do at home. I may have to edit and add those later!! Enjoy! We did have some good summers, didn't we?
Since I don't have glasses, I'm guessing this picture was about 1980. I did love being at Mamaw and Papaw's house though. I loved playing back behind the tractor shed, stomping on chesnut sticky-things and pulling willow limbs and feeding the cows.
Ahh, Backbone Rock. Another fun place for us. Funny, now, I don't like to go up there for anything. Where were you Lynette? Working at the Chinese place in the mall?
What cute little girls!!
What happened?????????

The LAST Competition
Reed had her last dance competition of the season Saturday at Meadowview here in Kingsport. Thank goodness, no hotel bill!! The girls did awesome! Every competiton groups differently and gives out awards differently. Reed and her group got "gold" and placed 3rd overall in junior division. Their production tap got a "high gold" and placed 1st over productions, and their production hip-hop got a "high gold" and placed 2nd overall in productions. I think that's so weird that you can compete against yourself in the categories. Another long day of dancing, but well worth it. Of course, I didn't get any pictures. We were so busy putting on the make-up and spraying glitter that you don't have time to get the camera out. However, I did video tape her tap number, "Baby I'm a Star." (I wasn't supposed to, but I did anyway.) I'm going to try to figure out how to get it on. I hope anyway.
At workshop the next day, Reed's friend Makenna got a scholarship for jazz, and Reed got one for tap!!!!!!!!!!!!! They only give 2 per age group so I was shocked but so excited. There were about 100 girls there, so it was great. It just means that next year we won't have to pay the $100 to do the workshop; it will be free!! So, yay Reed!! My friend Christi's niece got an advanced scholarship. They actually win a scholarship to go somewhere, and she won the one to the Joffrey Ballet. She is a beautiful dancer, and well deserving.
Here is a picture of Reed and Makenna!!
