Barack Obama was in Bristol,VA today at the high school and I went. I had gotten a ticket to go, but my friend Lesley didn't have one. We rode up anyway just to be around the excitement and to see what was going on. We were standing outside just to catch a glimpse of him going into the school. A volunteer walked up to us, and the next thing we knew, she had us going into the gym with her. We got good seats. Rick Boucher and Mark Warner spoke and introduced him. We got to hear his speech and listen as he took some questions from the audience. It was very exciting. So the footage you see on the cable shows today are probably from our neck of the woods! No matter your politics, it is exciting to think that we live in this great country and are allowed to publicly express our opinions and support candidates. Even if you don't like a candidate, you can express that too without fear. We are certainly blessed!!
I forgot my camera in my van at Lesley's house, so I only had my cell phone. I got this picture after the event as he was headed out.

WOW! This was an awesome opportunity to experience our freedoms at their best! I'm so glad I got to go with my friend Robin!!! (even though I didn't have a "golden ticket".) HA HA HA :)This really was an amazing, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I can still hear the chant "YES WE CAN, YES WE CAN!" Go, Barack!!!
I'm probably the least political person alive, LOL But that is pretty exciting!!
NOT Kenny Chesney exciting, of course;) HAHAHAHA
I still hate that I didn't get to go! :( But I'm glad that you got to!!
